Cherab Foundation Acquires Speechville Express
Speechville Express was created and maintained by a hardworking group of volunteers dedicated to helping parents and therapy providers find support, references, and materials to better help children with verbal, oral, or limb Apraxia or any of the accompanying disorders. After nearly a decade of providing this service, the longtime maintainer and host of Speechville Express, Patricia Morin, turned the website over to one of the sites co-creators, Cherab Foundation president Lisa Geng. Special thanks as well to the former partner of the apraxia kids site who built the original apraxiakids website and, after she resigned from CASANA, built the current cherab.org site and who is one of the co founders of Speechville, Gina Ross Mikel, along with other co-founders Cynthia Mustafa and Rhonda Jackobson Cherry.
In 2013, look for a complete redesign of the Speechville Express website by Cherab technical director, Lewis Nelson. The site will still focus on providing information, resources, and a place for support groups to connect. In the works will be an update to the support groups by region with an opportunity to have a support group site hosted, for free, by Speechville Express. As part of the rebranding, we’re unveiling this new Speechville Express logo:
If there are any volunteers experienced with WordPress that would like to help convert the old Speechville pages into WordPress pages on the new site, please contact Lewis via the Cherab Contact Form or by leaving a comment below.
